What the video covers

  1. Here's what to expect when you get a dental implant.
  2. When a tooth is missing, an implant replaces both the root and the visible tooth, so it looks, feels, and works like a natural one.
  3. First, we'll numb the area so you stay comfortable. You may feel some pressure, but you shouldn't feel any pain.
  4. Then a small titanium post is placed in the jawbone, right where the old root used to be.
  5. Over the next few months, the bone grows around the post and locks it firmly in place.
  6. Once it's healed, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the post. This is what will hold your new tooth.
  7. Finally, a custom crown, made to match your other teeth, is attached to the abutment.
  8. From there, care for it just like your own teeth. Brush twice a day, floss around the implant, and keep up with your regular checkups to keep your gums healthy.
  9. If you have any questions along the way, just ask. Your dental team is always happy to help.
