What the video covers

  1. Here's what to expect when you get a filling.
  2. A filling repairs a small area of decay, called a cavity, before it has a chance to grow deeper into the tooth.
  3. First, we'll numb the area so you stay comfortable. You may feel some pressure, but you shouldn't feel any pain.
  4. Next, we gently remove the soft, decayed part of the tooth, leaving only healthy tooth behind.
  5. Then we fill the space with a tooth-colored material, placed in thin layers and matched to the shade of your tooth.
  6. A gentle blue light hardens each layer in just a few seconds.
  7. Finally, we check your bite and polish the filling, so it feels smooth and natural.
  8. The numbness wears off in a few hours. After that, care for it like any other tooth. Brush twice a day, floss daily, and keep up with your regular checkups.
  9. If you have any questions along the way, just ask. Your dental team is always happy to help.
